Pet Allergy Signs and Symptoms
6 Signs of Canine Allergies
You may be a new pet parent or you just may not know all the signs of pet allergies. Here are six signs that something may be making your pup itch and scratch:
- Itchy or red skin.
- Runny eyes.
- Sneezing, reverse sneezing.
- Constant licking or chewing, especially at the feet, ears or face.
- Digestive issues, such as vomiting or diarrhea.
- Heavy snoring.
Get over these allergies by:
- Discussing your pet’s symptoms with your vet
- Cleaning your dog’s bedding at least once a week
- Bathing your dog regularly with hypoallergenic shampoo
- Ask your vet about antihistamines, ear cleaners, antiseptic wipes
- You can also consider allergy testing for more serious cases
Lookout for common seasonal allergies in dogs to ragweed, grass, pollens, molds, and dust mites.
I like that you talked about how constant licking or chewing, especially at the feet, ears or face is a sign of pet allergy. Our pet dog has been behaving strangely lately and we suspect that it might be caused by some allergy. We are not exactly sure of this yet, so I think we should consult with a veterinarian first.
