DGP September Dog of the Month: Astro

We are pleased to kick off the return of our Dog of the Month with Astro!

Astro is in the loving hands of Live.Love.Bark Dog Rescue, Inc., a non-profit volunteer group dedicated to helping homeless dogs!

Astro is a handsome male Lab /Pit mix who is just over a year old. He has spent most of his life at Islip Animal Shelter, waiting for someone to take him home. Astro is a happy, energetic boy who would do best with an experienced dog owner. He is working on learning his leash manners and is doing great! Astro sits on command and also knows the “down” command. Astro loves people and is eager to please.

He needs to be your “one and only” and would do best with older children…only because he’s a big boy (big and strong). Astro is ready to get out of the shelter and into a home! Founded in 2013, Live.Love.Bark Dog Rescue is the non-profit volunteer group that works directly with Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center. Their mission is to train homeless dogs and prepare them for life after the shelter. The two main priorities are training and fundraising.
