Suggested: 4 Places to Your Dog in Summer
- Chicken Broth Pops. Making chicken, but have leftover broth or carcasses? Boil your chicken bones in hot water after you are done with it for about an hour and a half. Pour the liquid through a strainer, to remove all pieces of bone and cartilage. Once done, you can either freeze just like that OR add some peas and carrots to spice things up. Make sure you do not use any salted broth, because this can be very unhealthy for you canine companion.
- Whole Fruit Pupsicles. Begin by mixing 4 cups of water, 1 cup of chopped fresh fruit, and 1 tbsp. of molasses (dissolved in water) in a bowl. Pick your barking buddy’s favorite fruits–remember to remove the seeds and NEVER give them grapes (they are super allergic!). Pour into popsicle molds or ice trays and freeze until solid.
- Banana Peanut Butter Pops. If your dog loves peanut butter (and who’s doesn’t?) then this treat will surely change your dog’s life! Mash up some banana with peanut butter, mix in about ¼ cup of wheat germ, place into molds and freeze. These are more of an ice cream type treat, but just as tasty and much creamier.
Give your four-legged friend a pupsicle treat this summer that they’ll never forget!
